Gross Keyboard

(WITD: Ugle to Beautiful)

Sticky, gooey, slimey green
Got to be the gross-ist that I've seen
This kid has a real bad cold
Get the bleach--before there's mold!

How I hate the keyboard blues
But I love the silly kid whose
Always there with a great smile-
That's as big as a country mile!

Not everyone would love this group
I'm just blessed that I'm not cleaning poop!
It could have been much worse
Goobers could've been in my purse!

Yup, the keyboard can be gross,
But that's minimum-not the most
It's perspective---you see
It's called job security!

WOTD: Wow! So much to reflect on! So much I've learned! I can't even begin to encompass all that my learning entails.
I'm so very thankful for this experience! Delia was right when she said this was the Professional Development she'd ever been to!
I am excited (nervously, as always!) about my log report. I want it to be outstanding and a true example/demonstration of my learning.
I love the fact that though my concerns about the Buddah influence were discussed, they weren't really challenged, but rather accepted that learning would continue. I love the fact that though our belief systems may be different, it doesn't mean that we can't agree to disagree. I feel like I've come away with so many different ideas for writing:
  • Recipes
  • Newspaper clippings
  • Music lyrics
  • Video
  • News reporting
  • Brochure
  • Web page
  • Novel
  • Advertisement
  • the list goes on and on and on......
I never knew in my years of teaching that I could learn so much in a Professional Development. I spend all day in the computer lab and sometimes I feel like I'm not a "real teacher." I feel, often, cut off from the "rest of the school." I feel so, especially when I'm required to go to Professional Development, yes, even staff meetings that haven't a thing to do with my class!!! This is a great opportunity for teachers of all disciplines to be a part of! I have so enjoyed the constant challenge and positive reinforcement that's been mine in this small class.
I look forward to getting the administration to see the value of Google docs and implementing it. This would benefit not only our staff, but our students as well. It's a great benefit for our parents who sometimes get the impression that "we're out to get their student." Google-docs is such a great opportunity as it offers parents with online capabilities access to their student's work 24/7. It also enables students to collaborate with their peers, yes, even their teachers, with projects. Google-docs is cost effective.
Probably one of the most beneficial products of this workshop for me, will be the letter that I composed for board review. I'm anxious to get peer review before submitting it to them.
I'm also very interested in the thoughts of my peers as far as how they might implement my tablet. I have special needs students in my classes, and I'd like to use this tablet, but am unsure of how to use it. I guess one of the most beneficial products of this class has been its peer response.
